It doesn’t matter how careful you are, somehow you will get a carpet stain. Here are a few tips to help you to get out two common carpet stains.
The first common carpet stain is red wine. You will need to act quickly with a red wine spill. First, blot the spill with an absorbent cloth. Next, sponge or spritz the stain with cold water, blot dry. Then sponge the spill with a mixture of 1 Tbsp white vinegar and 1 Tbsp liquid dish soap to 2 cups of warm water, blot dry. Next, sponge or spritz again with cold water again, then blot dry.
Another common carpet stain is candle wax. You will want to do the opposite of red wine, and not clean the warm wax right away. Allow the wax to cool completely, then scrape off as much of the wax as possible. Then place paper towels over the wax, and press the paper towels with a dry warm iron. After the area cools, fluff the carpet fibers with your fingers.
There are carpet stain remover products available. If you have them, just make sure that you follow the directions closely. But if you are in a pinch, these couple of tips will help you to remove those stains.
