Many people may put off cleaning their ceiling fans because it makes a huge mess with dust everywhere. Here are a few tips to help you to clean your ceiling fans without all the mess.
The first tip is to try to clean your ceiling fans twice a year. This way there will be less dust buildup, which will lead to less of a mess when cleaning the fans.
Another tip is to spray a solution of vinegar and water or with an all-purpose cleaner inside an old pillowcase to clean your ceiling fans’ blades. Then place the pillowcase over a ceiling blade, and make sure your fan is completely off. Next, as you pull the pillowcase towards you, wipe the blade. This will trap inside the pillowcase any dust or debris. Then, if needed, wipe the remaining dust with a microfiber cloth.
The next tip is to dust the lightbulbs, after they are completely cooled, with a microfiber cloth. Then, if your ceiling fan has glass globes, remove these and wash them with warm soapy water.
Following these few tips will help you to reduce the mess while cleaning your ceiling fans, and hopefully make the job easier.
